When I’m hungry, I can still hear Mom saying “Time for Dinner.” That phrase alone says so much about how our relationship with food has changed. “Time for Dinner.” There’s no time for dinner. My mail, phone, and car keys spend more time at the kitchen table than I do.
The irony is that we all rush to grab takeout or order lukewarm delivery in plastic boxes thinking it will give us more time… when it’s actually stealing it.
That’s how ServedIN and the concept of residential room service was born. We realized we didn’t want to just help people save time. We wanted to help them savor it. So, we built from a simple idea – Quality food and quality time should be inseparable. We brought a Michelin 3-star chef on board to create brilliant, casual dishes, but also turned the concept of a quick-turnaround kitchen upside-down. Taste, speed, experience. We knew they all had to be on-point, every time.
And we knew the menu couldn’t be some flimsy rag with a phone number. It had to be everyday, but adventurous. So we built an ordering app that would learn personalities and control every detail of the process. Like having a digital butler.
ServedIN isn’t the latest evolution of dining in. It’s an entirely new way of looking at the way people interact with food and each other. We can’t add more hours to the day, but we can make them easier, richer, more personal and more memorable. After all, food is life. And life is meant to be savored.
