Using the iconic crime scene reconstruction style, we tell Jerry’s story in a simple and funny way.
Several months ago, Jerry Mercado, 25, escaped from the Robinson Correctional Institution in Enfield.
Almost immediately he made his way to the closest Burger King.
Jerry, we know that two years without tasting a flame-grilled Whopper Sandwich is hard.
Prisons are not precisely famous for their food. But man… that’s no excuse.
The law is the law and we should all respect it.
And as you may have noticed by now, it’s pretty hard to escape from it.
According to the statute 53a-169, you were declared guilty of escape in the 1st degree.
That means… 3 more years in prison.
And because we don’t want you to break the law again, we want to offer you a deal.
Be a good prisoner during the rest of your sentence.
Be nice to the guards.
Don’t fight with other prisoners and please…
…don’t try to escape again.
If you do it, we will give you the same amount of years on your sentence, but in free Whopper sandwiches.
Be a good prisoner. Pay for what you did and respect the law.
Then, you can taste the flame-grilled freedom.
Talk soon.
