Tim trained at two of Los Angeles' legendary improv schools, The Groundlings and The Upright Citizens' Brigade. He brings his improvisational training to his acting and coaching, encouraging everyone to "stay present in the moment." Tim's approach to VO coaching is to focus on the acting, building each performance and finding motivation so that the actor can connect with the scene and deliver a believable, quality performance.
Tim created TimProv, an ongoing virtual playground where actors can participate in improvisational theater games. These games help actors overcome perfectionism and reinforce the adage "It is more important to be natural than perfect." Any actor, regardless of their experience with improv, is welcome to attend TimProv. Tim explains each game and keeps things on track, while also making it fun and hilarious.
A typical TimProv session consists of three to five short games. In these games, actors organically develop characters, situations, and scenes without a script. They rely on their instincts and intelligence to create spontaneous, organic theater. Even if an actor has never done improv before, they will walk away from TimProv with the experience and confidence to improvise in their acting work moving forward.
