In the world of voice over, few things are more frustrating than getting ready to make a recording and realizing that things aren’t sounding the way they should. Buzzing, hissing, clicks, pops, whatever problem you’re having with your audio, GVAA will get to the bottom of it! No need to spend hours combing through countless forums or Youtube videos, just book a private session with us and we’ll find the soonest possible time to meet with you.
I’m Not Getting Sound Out of My Recording Software
Sometimes the answer is as simple as restarting your computer. Other times, the lack of audio can be resolved by downloading a software update for your computer, your audio interface, and/or the software program you’re using to record and edit. If neither of these approaches resolves the issue for you, we’ll double check that you have all your settings configured correctly and get you back to recording in no time!
The Effects I’m Using Seem To Be Making My Audio Worse
If you’re looking to fine-tune your editing skills, we recommend watching one of our editing webinars (available on GVAA On Demand) or scheduling an hour of one-on-one editing training with us. That being said, if you already have a good handle on the editing process and just need to dial in a setting or two to get things sounding the way you want them to, we’re more than happy to make some recommendations during our tech-support session together!
My Mic Sounds Off
Common issues are having the microphone facing the wrong way (the front and the back can look almost identical), having the wrong input source selected in your recording software (we’ve all made the mistake of accidentally using our computer’s microphone), or not using the correct settings on your audio interface. During our tech support session, we’ll troubleshoot with you to make sure your microphone is sounding the way it should!
I’m Hearing A Weird Sound That Never Used To Be There
This problem is often the least straight-forward to address. It could be anything from a faulty XLR cable, an issue with your mic, audio interface, or it could even be a software issue rather than a hardware issue. Our approach is to test each variable one at a time, so that through a process of elimination we can figure out exactly what’s going on. Book your session today and we’ll make sure that all your recordings meet VO industry standards.
